Join us in the Restoration Center for a night of inspiring, hands-on discovery.

Take a deeper dive (pun intended) into the important role Lake Michigan played in WWII and how our SBD-1 bomber met their gloomy fate, spending more than 50 years on the bottom of the lake. Following this brief presentation, YOU will have the opportunity to be part of recreating history by participating in the restoration of these very planes with guidance from our experienced Restoration volunteers.

Casual clothing that can get a little dirty is recommended.

Activities will include: pneumatic riveting, bead blasting, safety wiring, insignia stenciling, and more! 

Space is limited, and exclusive to Air Zoo Members only. As we will be using tools and machinery, we ask that children attending are 10 years of age or older.
