We will take a merry, not scary, look at some of the animals that crawl and creep. We’ll watch worms at work, meet a visiting reptile friend, and make a firefly model that glows in the dark.

Space Exploration Merit Badge Day
April 18, 2026 | 9am-1:30pm
- Fee: $35/scout and $14/adult
- Limit: 30 participants maximum/ 10 participants minimum (per session)
Blast off into the history of space exploration and uncover the events that shaped our understanding of the cosmos! Students will explore future space missions, including plans to return to the Moon and reach Mars. They’ll research groundbreaking technology and everyday products from the space program and put their knowledge to the test by launching a rocket (weather permitting)!
This program will meet all of the requirements for the Scouts BSA: Space Exploration Merit Badge.
Encounter air pressure at work and explore the question, “What is weather, and why is it important to us?” Students learn the vocabulary of weather; view instruments used to measure our changing atmosphere and create tools to measure wind direction.

Young meteorologists make weather observations, use weather map skills, and operate weather instruments while learning the science behind our changing atmosphere. Students study natural hazards like tornadoes and floods by interacting with a dry ice tornado and a 5-foot stream table.

Mix a little science with a lot of fun as we launch rockets using Alka-Seltzer and water. Explore chemical reactions, test different designs, and experiment with changing variables to affect the height of the rocket.

Blast off with the power of your feet! Kids will design and launch their own stomp rockets while learning how Newton's 3rd Law of motion helps rockets fly high into the sky.
